Welcome to Interguild!

Our first event of 2010 is just around the corner, and I can assure you that the Workshop at St. Michael’s College School on February 19th is Not-To-Be-Missed.

Guest speaker and Executive Coach Sharon Ranson of The Ranson Group will be presenting “What’s Next: Transforming Yourself Personally and Professionally.” This 90-minute inter-active session will help us learn how to combine our strengths, passions and dreams with a structured plan of ACTION!

As a home-maker whose last kid will too soon depart from the nest, I’m eager to discover how to re-position MYSELF to achieve a meaningful “Second Act” in my life.

Interguild activities for the rest of the year include a second Networking event in late spring. We’re still accepting suggestions on “hot button” topics and soliciting volunteers to “host”, so send in your suggestions QUICK!  Our Annual General Meeting, scheduled for May 11, 2010, will be hosted by Pickering College in Newmarket.

It occurred to me recently that Interguild was ahead of the curve in terms of grasping the advantages of crowd–sourcing, wiki-nomics and grass-roots networking. We’ve always appreciated that sharing perspectives and working together enable us to accomplish so much more than we could ever achieve as individuals.

That said, Interguild’s “collective imagination” needs to keep replenishing itself, and we’re on the hunt for intelligent, energetic and “Go-To” volunteers to replace several long-standing committee chairs who will retire this year.

When you consider the advantages of joining the Interguild Board - instant networking with committed peers who possess a wide range of professional experience, skill sets and insights—it’s obvious that volunteering confers tangible benefits. After five years as a Committee member, I’m persuaded that the investment you make is equal to the rewards you take.
