Interguild's Annual Events
We host 5 events over the course of the academic year. Our events offer networking, learning and collaborative experiences for our members. We regularly survey members to direct us towards subjects of interest.
Events are hosted at our member schools, with each event giving the host school the opportunity to address our Interguild community and provide school tours. Events are well attended by our members, with attendance usually averaging around 50 attendees.
Held in September or early October, this is our kick-off event for the year and is open to Interguild representatives and Presidents of PA’s/guilds. As the first event of the year, we offer networking opportunities for new members to get to know each other, and often host breakout discussions on hot topics. Interguild will introduce itself and its calendar for the year and a representative of CIS Ontario will often speak.

This annual event is useful to school shop managers and purchasers of grad gifts, etc. Interguild hosts a marketplace event where school stores suppliers can showcase their wares. A light luncheon provides a focus for networking opportunities, as well as relationship building with vendors. Register to become a vendor at our next Marketplace event.

At Interguild Connects January, we facilitate organized group discussions centred on topics of mutual interest. This group discussion format allows members to pick each other’s brains on new ideas, successful formulas, collaborative problem solving and helping each other with issues and brainstorming.

At Interguild Connects February, a guest speaker is brought in to educate members on timely topics of mutual interest. Topics discussed in the past include fundraising, motivational, organizational, leadership, volunteerism etc.

The final event of the year is our Interguild’s AGM. The AGM is a highlight of Interguild’s calendar, and formally introduces and inducts the new members of the Interguild executive. Once formal proceedings are concluded, the AGM culminates in an inspirational Guest Speaker, followed by a light luncheon at the host school. There are occasionally optional activities organized by the host school in conjunction with the AGM, if timing and location allow for this opportunity.
